Xenical
Xenical information
Xenical
is a medication that can be used by overweight people to lose weight and to keep it off. Xenical can be used when you need a little extra support from outside to shed off those extra kilos from your weight. It is an oral prescription drug developed by Roche pharmaceuticals.
How Xenical works?
If a person takes in excessive amount of fat and calories,
then the excess is stored as fat resulting in weight gain.
Xenical works on the digestive system to block about one-third
of fat from being digested. This undigested fat is not absorbed
by the body and is eliminated through bowel movement.

Xenical dosage
The recommended dose of Xenical is a 120-mg capsule three times a day. This is to be taken with each main meal containing fat. It has to be taken up to 1 hour after the meal. The person taking Xenical should be on a proper nutritionally balanced diet. The diet has to be a reduced calorie diet that has around 30% of calories from fat.
Xenical also interferes in the absorption of fat-soluble
vitamins A, D, E and K. It is recommended to take supplements
like multivitamin containing fat-soluble vitamins to ensure
proper nutrition.

Xenical side effects
There are a few side effects of Xenical that are likely to occur. These include:
- Oily stools.
- Gas with discharge.
- An urgent need to go to the bathroom.
- Increased number of bowel movements.
- Inability to control bowel movements.
- Brown coloured oil in the stool.
These symptoms are temporary and disappear gradually if you continue the treatment. They are a consequence to the bodily adjustments in response to Xenical. If any serious side effects occur, then seek medical help immediately.
